This is a cartoon about Captain James Cook (A lieutenant at the time) and his crew discovering the Eastern coast of Australia. In the cartoon, Cook is searching for Terra Australis so he can claim it for England. Cook's crew are getting tired of being in the open ocean, are losing hope, when land is spotted. Cook takes a crew member's telescope, and realizes that it is not Terra Australis, since it is not large enough. But then Cook notices some Aboriginals.
